Great Bardfield Town Hall is a central focal point in the vibrant village community of Great Bardfield, Essex. Our historic hall stands as a symbol of tradition, hosting a variety of events that bring people together. With a rich heritage, the town hall reflects the past while embracing the future, providing a unique setting for gatherings, performances, celebrations as well as all things art & craft.

Well known for the Bardfield artists, our Bawden Room celebrates just one of them. This room contains many of the Edward Bawden lithographs. Not only is this space a gallery of his work, it is also an ideal meeting space too. Add to this a smaller space at the rear of the main hall, the Committee Room, gives you a third option of space to hire.

Happenings...

August/September 2025

The Village Boules competition continues to fill the Town Hall area with games, and as of August these are progressing to the "knockout" stage. It's great to have such a vibrant community event happening throughout the summer, and now that The Bell is open again, games can be easily accompanied with suitable refreshments. The Final of the boules competition will be played on 13th September 2025 from midday. This event always offers great entertainment for participants and spectators alike, with a BBQ, music and hopefully sunshine. Everyone is welcome to come along and support this enjoyable and sociable event.

Our Craft Fair will be held on 11th October (10am till 4pm) with a wide range of crafts represented, this will be a great opportunity to purchase unique Christmas presents.

The Town Hall Management Committee is continuing its work to improve the facilities at the Hall, the rear corridor has already been redecorated, and there are plans in progress to improve access for all to the hall, including the provision of a disabled toilet and better access.
